Jimmer Fredette, Nolan Smith Top AP All-Americans

Senior guards Jimmer Fredette of BYU and Nolan Smith of Duke are the leading vote-getters on The Associated Press All-America team.

Freshman Jared Sullinger of Ohio State, junior guard Kemba Walker of Connecticut and senior forward JaJuan Johnson of Purdue also are on the team announced Monday.

Fredette, the nation's leading scorer, received all but one of 65 votes from the national media panel that selects the Top 25. Smith, who led the Blue Devils to a No. 1 ranking for 10 weeks this season, got 61 votes.

Jimmer Fredette (BYU), JaJuan Johnson (Purdue), Nolan Smith (Duke), Jared Sullinger (Ohio State) and Kemba Walker (Connecticut) were named to the USBWA All-American First Team for the 10-11 season.

Kenneth Faried (Morehead State), Jordan Hamilton (Texas), Ben Hansbrough (Notre Dame), Marcus Morris (Kansas) and Derrick Williams (Arizona) were named to the Second Team.

Ohio State, Kansas, Pitt, Duke Take Top Seeds In 2011 Tourney

Ohio State is the No. 1 overall seed in the 2011 NCAA Tournament and will be placed in the East Region.

Joining the Buckeyes No. 1 seeds is Kansas in the Midwest, Pittsburgh in the Southeast and Duke in the West.

Pitt is the only No. 1 seed to not win their conference tournament, losing to eventual champion Connecticut in the quarterfinals.

San Diego State, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Florida are the No. 2 seeds, while Syracuse, Purdue, Connecticut and BYU are the No. 3 seeds. Kentucky, Louisville, Texas and Wisconsin are the No. 4 seeds.

Kansas and Duke were also No. 1 seeds in the 2010 NCAA Tournament, while Ohio State was a No. 2 and Pitt was a No. 3.

The Final Four will be held in Houston on April 2nd and 4th.

Big Ten Announces 10-11 Awards

JaJuan Johnson of Purdue has won both the Coaches and Media Big Ten Player of the Year Award.

Jared Sullinger of Ohio State won both awards for Freshman of the Year.

Johnson, Sullinger, Jordan Taylor (Wisconsin) and E'Twaun Moore (Purdue) were All-Big Ten First Team selections on both lists. Jon Leuer (Wisconsin) was the fifth member by the Coaches and Talor Battle was the Media's fifth selection.
